~The Reason~
It’s a hair supplement base on Chinese traditional recipe. The main ingredient is He Shou Wu, which has been well known to delay gray hair and treat alopecia.
Chinese Herbs have help lots of people who have not succeeded with medical treatment or those who have avoided chemical drugs. Shen Min supplement is just another option for those who did not want to try Rogaine to solve their hair loss problems.
Other famous herb that has effect to hair loss-specially to hormone related hair loss- is saw palmetto. Saw palmetto has impact in treating enlarge prostate, which has connection to testosterone hormone-the same hormone that cause problems. Due to that correlation, it’s concluded that saw palmetto can stop or at least reduce testosterone activity in hair follicle. For us, women, taking a drug that has effect in hormone pathway should be weighed carefully. So, women should look at another hair supplement that able to help them grow hair but less harm to their body.
~The Ingredient~
This supplement contains He Shou Wu herb as its main ingredient. It mixed with other herbs thought to have good effect in hair loss treatment like Black Cohost, Horse Chestnut, and Silica. It’s also enriched with vitamins for hair.
Special consideration should be made if a person with a sensitive stomach "like me :-)" wants to consume Shen Min supplement because it has side effect of making you got diarrhea (loose stool). The main ingredient, He Shou Wu, has laxative effect.
~The Result~
This supplement caused the existing hair not to fall easily. I guess it did make the hair root attached more firmly. Since it’s an herbal medicine, it’s hard to look for information about the clinical trial published.
What I don’t like is the diarrhea effect! I have sensitive stomach, especially when eating chili and other “hot” food. My working methods to anticipate diarrhea are drinking black tea or drinking instant fiber drink right after eating some diarrhea causing food :-).
But I don’t think I would do that method when eating some supplement because supplement supposed to be helping my life to a healthier mode, not the other way round! In order to cooperate with sensitive stomach, consume this supplement once every three days! Ha! It’s not even meeting the minimum recommended dose! Or pick another supplement, which is friendlier to your stomach but great to your hair.
