Was My Hair Loss Caused By Drug?

Back in 2004, when I was having two jobs at the same time and having a severe skin allergy (which later known to be infected) and also finding a thumbnail bald spot in my front head. I remember the bald spot came in the middle of my skin treatment. So I have two problems, severe skin allergy and female baldness. Allergy drug was given to me. My skin allergy was my prime focus! Imagine this, having abscesses in both palm and feet. All doctors that I have consulted stated that I get an allergy so they gave me hormone treatment. This drug is the good choice to cure allergy. The side effect was acne and I got fatter. Not satisfy with the result, a doctor asked me to undergo a lab test on my skin and my stool. The result was I have fungi in my stool, not in my skin. It was confusing! I should have found fungi in my skin! Due to the lab test result, doctor gave me oral anti fungi. I didn’t read more about the contra indications or side effect. I just plainly trust my doctor. After 5 days, my stomach began to react badly to the drug. I got a quiet disturbing diarrhea. Then I began to think, if the fungi was in my skin, they didn’t have to cure it from oral, just used topically anti fungi. I consult with other doctor; even I tried to consult an online doctor from USA. Fortunately I found a senior doctor who has ever treat a symptom like mine. He gave me an ointment mixture consists of anti fungi, anti bacterial and hormone. My allergy was getting better in a week range. In search of fighting my female hair loss, I seriously think about my self. I read a lot about the drug I have taken and found out that anti fungi can have effect of causing hair loss. In some cases, drug side effect can be reversible, means when someone stop using the drug the side effect will be gone In hair, I found rather slow reverse. Because hair cycle is about 6 months and you can't see it with naked eye about your hair follicle condition, it was suggested to take action ASAP. In short, I combine hair tonic consist of Panax ginseng, topically applied Saw palmetto and eugenol and vitamin. The result was shown in 5-6 months. Some new hair began to grow. by Ally Wied |
